Rubber rings were installed in the tail light opening from the start of GPW production through December 1942. These rings
were deleted from production due to wartime rubber shortages.
GPW Reflectors, above photo.
From March 1942 through October 1943, the GPW used a round reflector with the housing marked GUIDE
A-2 NO. 408C with a script "F". The inserts are red and marked STIMSONITE NO 12.

The corner handles are marked with a script "F".
Top Bow Hardware with Safety Chains, above left photo.
Each bracket for the top bow is marked with a script "F". Two of the chains shown are for the top bow thumb screws and

Spare Wheel Lock with Key, right photo.
The spare wheel lock with key was only used with the 3 stud spare wheel carrier.

T-84 Transmission, left and right photo.
The T-84 was used throughout GPW production. From the start of production through September 1942 the oil drain holes
were located on the passenger side (above right photo).
The Case is marked in raised markings GPW7008 with a script "F". The Gear Shift Lever Housing (top cover) is marked
with cast markings GPW 7222 1. The Main Drive Shaft Retainer (front cover) is marked with cast markings GPW-7050.
T-18 Transfer Case, above left photo.
The T-18 Transfer Case was used throughout GPW production. The External Contracting Parking Brake was used from the
start of GPW production through March 1944.
The Transfer Case is marked with cast markings GPW 7705 with a script "F". The front housing is marked with cast
markings GPW 7714 1 with a script "F". The Transfer Case has two rivets below the oil fill plug which may indicate a
rebuild plate placement.
Frame Bumpers, above left photo.
The Frame Bumpers are marked GPW 5783 with a script "F". These were mounted above each axle on the frame to prevent
contact of the axle housing on the frame.
Clutch and Clutch Plate, above right photo.
Reproduction Shock Absorbers, above left photo.
Shock Absorbers installed on the GPW were manufactured by Gabriel. The original rear shock absorbers had a flared
lower end on the outer tube as well as a stone guard on the inner tube.
These reproductions are marked ORDNANCE G503-7703114 A170 GPW18080 (rear shock absorber) and ORDNANCE
G503-708875 A6902 GPW18045 (front shock absorber). All four shock absorbers are shown without the rubber bushing
installed.
Torque Reaction Spring, above left photo.
The Torque Reaction Spring was mounted on the drivers side of the suspension under the normal spring to counter
balance the engine during starting. This spring was used from May 1942 to the end of GPW production.
Master Cylinder Tie Bar, above right photo.
This master cylinder tie bar is marked with a script "F" inside of a circle.
